Treatment and Diagnosis: There is no specific treatment or cure available. However, most children with down syndrome often attend speech therapy and/ or occupational therapy to work on necessary life skills. Many also frequently perform exercises in order to assist with the improvement basic motor skills. There's also an option to contact an organization of health professionals who will direct a path of treatment based on the symptoms of the individual. No genetic testing can be done due to the disorder being a mutation but there is a series of tests, such as a diagnostic test, is able to be done before the baby is born to determine if the fetus has down syndrome.
